BUILDING BLOCKS OF A GOOD TEAM



1.     Define and interpret your goals to your followers/subordinates.
2.     Proper planning.
3.     Put a reward mechanism in place.
4.     Let the tasks be well spelt out.
5.     Set timelines for each member to accomplish his or her goal.
6.     Identify hurdles earlier.
7.     Motivate team members.
8.     If need be, replace non-functional team members.
9.     Identify and explore areas of their strengths.
10.                        Develop friendship with them.
11.                        Coach/Teach your subordinates.
12.                        Learn to motivate your followers/subordinates into obedience rather than coercing them.
13.                        Challenge your subordinates to outdo themselves.
14.                        Be interested in the personal lives of your subordinates.
15.                        Lead by example.
16.                        Handle your team as a team and not a group.
17.                        Listen to their ideas.
18.                        An ordinary leader tells, a good leader teaches, a better leader demonstrates and a super leader inspires.
