“And Moses spake unto the LORD, saying, 16 Let the LORD, the God of the
spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, 17 Which may go out
before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and
which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep
which have no shepherd.” Numbers 27:15-17.
“And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall
they not both fall into the ditch?” Luke 6:39.
1.
It is delivering people from the land of bondage to
serve the Lord better as Moses did. Ex 3:10 “Come now therefore, and I will
send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of
Israel out of Egypt.” Ex 3:10.
2.
It is leading the people according to the plan of
God into their Promised Land like Joshua. “And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee
Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon
him;” Num 27:18.
3.
It is receiving the purging fire of God to minister
to the people the way God wants like Isaiah. Isa 6:1 “In the year that king Uzziah died
I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train
filled the temple. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a
man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for
mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. 6 Then flew one of the
seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the
tongs from off the altar: 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this
hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. 8
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go
for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isa 6:1,5-8.
4.
It is building the ark to save people from the rain
of destruction and flood as Noah did. “Thus did Noah; according to all that God
commanded him, so did he.” Gen 6:22. “And Noah did according unto all
that the LORD commanded him.” Gen 7:5.
5.
It is commanding your household to fear and serve
God as Abraham did. “For I know him, that he will command his
children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD,
to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he
hath spoken of him.” Gen 18:19.
6.
It is taking the risk to save people of God like
Esther (Esther 4:16 “..and if I perish, I perish”).
7.
It is passing through the tragedy of life in order
to bring people into the kingdom of God like Paul. “Who shall separate us from the
love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Rm
8:35. “Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in
labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in
deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25
Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck,
a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in
perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city,
in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false
brethren; 27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and
thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.” 2 Cor.11-23-27.
8.
It is preparing the way of the Lord in the
wilderness of the world like John the Baptist. Mt 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water
unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I
am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”
Matt 3:11.
9.
It is washing the feet of the disciples like Jesus.
“After
that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and
to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.” John 13:5.
10.
It is bringing the people back from idolatry into
the worship of the true God like Elijah. “Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people
may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back
again.” 1 Kings 18:37.
11.
It is persistence and thirst for greater anointing
like Elisha. 2 Kings 2:1-12. Gilgah –Bethel-Jericho-Jordan. “And it came to pass, when the LORD would
take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from
Gilgal. 2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD
hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as
thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel. 4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry
here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. .. I will not leave
thee. So they came to Jericho. 6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee,
here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said,… I will not leave thee.
And they two went on….Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee,
before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double
portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing:
nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto
thee; but if not, it shall not be so.” 2 Kings 2:1-12.
12.
It is demonstration of honesty, integrity and
transparency like Samuel. “Behold, here I am: witness against me before
the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I
taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I
received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.”
1 Sam 12:3.
13.
It is running away from satanic traps that can
hinder the fulfillment of your dreams like Joseph. “And it came to pass after these
things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie
with me. 8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master
wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he
hath to my hand; 9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he
kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I
do this great wickedness, and sin against God?10 And it came to pass, as she
spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or
to be with her. 11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into
the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there
within. 12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left
his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.” Gen 39:7-12.
14.
It is declaring strong loyalty to God in the face
of strong oppositions like Daniel. Dan 6:10 “ Now when Daniel knew that the
writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his
chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and
prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” Dan 6:10.
3 Hebrew Children. “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O
Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able
to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of
thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king,
that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast
set up.”
Dan 3:16-18.
15.
It is carrying the burdens and aspirations of
others like Moses.
16.
It is identifying and developing the potentials in
others like Paul did to Timothy. “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that
thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”
2 Tim 1:6.
17.
It is motivating and not coercing people into
obedience like Jesus.
18.
It is helping those under you to grow like Elijah
and Moses.
19.
It is entrusting people with responsibilities and
empowering them for performance like Moses (Joshua, 70 leaders), Jesus
(disciples).
20.
It is raising godly successors like Jesus (training
the disciples), Moses did (training Joshua), Elijah (training Elisha).
